Short explanations of the words this site uses. Each has its own address, so help buttons and other guides can point straight at one.
Module
One thing AyzyBot can do: welcome messages, tickets, automod. A module has a switch, settings and usually some commands, and does nothing in a server until it is switched on there. Modules are grouped into categories. The module reference has a page for each.
Simple and Advanced
Two views of a module's settings. Simple shows the few most servers need and runs the module on those alone; Advanced shows and applies every setting. What was set in Advanced is kept while a module is in Simple, but not applied. More in Finding your way round.
Tier
A level a server is on, starting at Tier 0, which is free. Some modules, some single settings and a few features need a higher tier; they are shown with a lock and the tier they need rather than hidden. A server reaches a tier through a plan, or because the people who run AyzyBot gave it one. Moving down a tier never deletes settings: what needs the higher tier simply stops applying until the server has it again.
Plan
What a server or a person holds that lifts a tier or unlocks particular modules. A plan can belong to a server, or to a person, in which case it counts for the servers they manage. The Premium page of a dashboard shows what that server has.
Limit
The most a server may have of something that comes as a list, such as how many entries a setting takes. Limits can differ by tier. A list at its limit takes no new entries; entries already saved are never removed because a limit went down, but only the first ones up to the limit are applied.
Grant
Something given by hand rather than bought. The people who run AyzyBot can grant a server a tier or a module; a server can grant a role or a member access to its dashboard.
Dashboard access
Who may open a server's dashboard and what they may do there. The Dashboard access page sets a rule for everyone in the server (by default, people who can manage the server in Discord), and can add particular roles or members, for the whole dashboard or for chosen parts, to look at or to change. The server owner can always do everything. On a part you may only look at, the page says View only.
Audit log
The record of who changed what in a server's dashboard, on the Audit log page. It records which setting was changed and by whom, not the values.
Placeholders
Words in curly brackets that are replaced when a message is sent, such as the member's name or the server's name. Message settings offer Insert a placeholder, which lists the ones that work in that message.
Embed builder
An embed is the boxed message format Discord uses for a title, text, fields and an image, with a coloured edge. Settings that take an embed open a builder with a preview of roughly how it will look. The colour, footer and time every embed starts from are set on the Identity & Appearance page.
Prefix
The character that starts a command typed as an ordinary message, as an alternative to a slash command. It is set per server on the Server settings page. Command guides show both forms.
Simulation mode
A mode in which actions members would notice, such as deleting a message or timing someone out, are written to a log channel instead of being carried out. It is for checking that moderation rules catch what they should before they act for real. It is switched on for a server by the people who run AyzyBot, not from the dashboard.
Export and import
Saving a server's whole configuration to a file, and loading one, on the Export and Import tabs of Move settings. Loading a file goes through the same checks as saving each setting by hand, so it cannot set what the server's tier, limits or your access would not allow. The From another bot tab is a different thing: it brings settings and data over from another bot.
